NEWBORN SESSION FAQ
When is a good time to book in my newborn session?
The earlier the better, it sounds cliche but due to the nature of newborn sessions I am only able to take on a limited number each month. Most parents contact me between 13-20 weeks pregnant and I reserve space around the expected due date.
How much will it cost?
That depends on what you love to have. I offer a range of products and packages which offers ultimate flexibility for all budgets.
Some spend $599, others invest over $2,500. The choice is yours!
I am more than happy to discuss various options with you over the phone - you know, a friendly chat!
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes I do. These are available through Laybuy, Oxipay and Zip. There are no set up fees and payment plans are interest free.
Plus you can take home your goodies while you are paying them off.

What if my baby arrives early or I go overdue?
This happens often and is perfectly fine. I totally understand they have their own schedule and have dates reserved each month for this.
What does baby wear during the session?
Honestly, usually just a nappy! Most often I will wrap baby in my extensive collection of wraps so you don't need to worry about several outfits for your little one. If you would like your baby dressed for the sibling &/or family images please bring an outfit for this (a nice plain legless onesie is always lovely) otherwise I have a good selection of blankets, hats, headbands & props here that we can use during your session. If you have something special you would like to include in your session please feel free to bring this along with you.
What do we wear?
Many parents often ask what I recommend they wear. For newborn imagery I recommend something simple like a classic black white, cream grey or navy. Flowing, loose fabric is also recommended for a new Mum as it is very flattering. In terms of Dad I would try to avoid stripes or any large logos as well as the older siblings as they can be very distracting when the image comes together. Also, glitter or sparkly outfits don't tend to photograph very well so whilst they are beautiful in real life, the sparkle doesn't show up in photographs. Some families like to choose a colour palette of 3 or so colours and base their clothing around those colours or tones. Ultimately though, these are your portraits and you can wear whatever you please, colour co-ordinated outfits are for some people but not all - do what feels right for your family.
How long will the session take?
Newborn sessions typically take 2-3 hours which allows plenty of time for feeding and settling. Some babies will drift off quite quickly whilst others take a little more soothing. I have allowed plenty of time for all of this so we won't be rushing through anything at all. I do understand that this can be a long wait for older siblings which is why I do try to get them involved wherever possible and if they're becoming restless we have two parks within walking distance if Dad if up for a little bit of a wander.
How long does until I can see the images from the session?
It is normally 2 - 3 weeks. I invite you back to the studio for your viewing and design appointment where I show you all the beautiful images that are available.

FAMILY SESSION FAQ
Where would our photo session take place?
For older children and families we head outdoors. The open space gives a bit more freedom and flexibility for your portraits. Locally we have some great outdoor options that I use frequently and most importantly, that photograph beautifully.
What if it rains? Do we reschedule?
This happens...but very rarely do I have to reschedule. If the weather isn't looking too great I will contact you by phone, sometimes if this happens overnight I will simply call first thing in the morning and together we will make a plan that works for you.
What do we wear?
This is by far the most commonly asked question. If you are the sort of personal that likes a cohesive look to your images then I would recommend choosing a colour palette and running that through the family. A couple of combinations are grey, navy and white or natural brown/beige tones look beautiful with cream. Choosing 3 colours and alternating these in different combinations whilst bringing in everyone's personal style is one way to bring everyone's outfit together. Colour coordinated and matching outfits are not for every family - you want to feel comfortable and above all look like yourselves so do what is right for your family and your personal taste. I would however recommend steering clear of fluro and large logos as these can be quite distracting in an image.
How long does it take?
I aim for an hour but definitely don't time keep to the very last minute. Your session will naturally come to an end when we have taken enough images and I feel like your collection is complete.
Help! One of the children has a grazed knee. Can this be removed?
Yes of course, as part of the retouching process I will remove scratches, grazes and bruises that are visible.
Do you offer digital images?
Yes I do. Each digital package comes with a print credit for you to spend on wall art so that you have something to take home alongside your USB.
